Lore? :0

This is totally giving me rainbow road vibes (the wii version), which is perfect for the competition's specifications! It is a little on the short end, but I wouldn't hold that to it much.

The buildup and release into the melodies is done super well, I have a soft spot for songs that take three minutes to build up to the big moment. As someone else said in this comment section, it sounds more like the actual race than the hangar itself- I am gonna rate it as if the song were in a void, but because of that and the fact that it does not loop well, it would probably be more around a 3.5 in the context of the competition BUT that is by no means a bad thing at all. The melodies and bass work together very well and even though the drumline is a bit repetitive, I think it works in this instance.

I really like your take on the challenge, most people seem to have gone more of a soft-sci-fi route with sleek cars and smooth tracks but this reminds me more of something like Mad-Max-meets-Mario-Kart and I am totally down with that :)

This reminds me a lot of the classic F-Zero soundtrack, even though it doesn't sound very much like it. That's a good thing, it means you have some sort of intrinsic value going on that sets off some nostalgic vibes of some sort! I also like how the melodies kinda swap back and forth between upbeat and more drawn-out to add at least some variety to the otherwise repetitive setup and baseline.

I would definitely work on layering a bit more, there is still a lot you can do to make the song thicker and a bit more progressive. Right now it sounds like all you have is a melody and drumline- in the future, you should consider adding things like bass, accents, counter-melodies, etc.
